peyto lake

Peyto Lake

travelling to photograph – that’s what i do and have always done.

exploring the canadian rockies was a dream-come-true! left home base in vancouver and headed to jasper, alberta via merritt, kamloops and valemount, bc. from there it was south to banff national park and the icefields parkway. then continued the circle back home via golden, revelstoke, vernon, kelowna, penticton and osoyoos, bc.

back in the rockies, this is the world-famous peyto lake photographed on a beautiful, cloud-filledĀ summer morning. though this is rendered in black and white, the amazing turquoise water did not disappoint on this day (see colour photo below)!

Peyto Lake (Colour)

by the way, that colour happens when the suspended glacial sediment runoff in the water is reflected by the sun.

please note that most of my images are also available in either sepia or full colour… interested? just ask! thanks šŸ˜‰
