standing around

VC1202

i love photographing lone trees – the countryside offers wonderful opportunities to do so. i came across this one near north pelham, ontario as i was exploring the country roads of the niagara region. the cow standing around was a bonus, I suppose… šŸ˜‰

Beyond The Boulder

the woody point lighthouse in its surroundingsĀ on the western shore of the south arm of bonne bay. though a lighthouse was initially erected in 1919, the one that stands today was built in 1959 and used a battery-operated light instead of the previous kerosene (1919 -1923) and acetylene (1923-1959) ones.

feeling alone?

b066-19rev

on a road trip starting in vancouver and ending in toronto through canada, this was photographed on the outskirts of drumheller, alberta. i was on a two-lane highway and there was no one in sight! i think one car passed us after i pulled off to the side of the road and set up my gear… yeah, the prairies are pretty big!

solitude 1 & 2

Solitude 1

Solitude 2

from home base in flagstaff, arizona I set out to explore the grand canyon – a dream-come-true for me. en-route, i came across this wonderful scene depicting the epitome of solitude. the homestead was the only one around for as far as the eye could see! you have it here from two vantage points.
