frozen by the falls
for the record, i don’t like winter. why humans are subjected to this inhumane season is beyond me… but it does make for some wonderful photographs. this was photographed early one winter morning earlier this year at niagara falls, ontario.

mist rising
a trip to niagara falls was always a treat – i would usually hit it a couple of times a year. now of course, i am living in st. catharines, ontario and am a mere 15 minute drive to the falls anytime i like… this was photographed in august of summer 2015 on a fireworks display night. i usually got there about 2 hours before the show and hoped for a beautiful sky and light over the falls. this night did not disappoint!

above the horseshoe
early morning at sunup with scarcely a soul around… here is the magnificent horseshoe falls on the canadian side of niagara falls with the now-defunct toronto power generating station in the background.

at rest on salmon bay
while visiting the town of st. anthony in the great northern peninsula of newfoundland, i met a new friend, robin g., who was heading home. he offered to show me around the area he lived in before i continued on to corner brook further south. we first made our way through the tiny village of main brook. this was photographed from water st., looking out towards devarenne (bushy) island on salmon bay.

misty morning
exploring the west coast of vancouver island led me into the pacific rim national park, where this scene was photographed. it was early september and the weather was still quite pleasant during the day. at night, it was a different story… camping on the beach, i awoke to a very misty, cold and damp morning. the dingy on the sand sure was a sight for sore eyes!
