morant’s curve

Morant's Curve

unbeknownst to me at the time, this is a spot along the bow valley parkway in banff national park known as morant’s curve. so named after nicholas morant, a photographer for the canadian pacific railway; because it was one of his favourite areas to photograph.

Here it is without train on a gorgeous summer’s day.

Shadows Over The Spray Valley

the gondola ride to the top of sulphur mountain in banff national park is about as spectacular as it gets! once at the summit upper terminal you are about 7500 feet in the sky and there are no less than 6 mountain ranges visible from there.

this is a photograph from about the mid-point up the ride with beautiful clouds dancing as the late afternoon casts its long shadows over the spray valley below.
