templo de debod

b007-17revthe templo de debod is an ancient egyptian monument dating back to the 4th century bc that was transplanted to madrid, spain in the early 1970’s. originally built in the nile valley of egypt, it was given to spain when the aswan dam was built, threatening the monument.

here it is photographed under a full moon on a lovely august summer night. unfortunately, the pools surrounding the monument were not filled during my visit. it would have been nice to have those reflections off the pools! maybe next time… šŸ˜‰
